About Gosder
Gosder Cherilus, was born in Haiti on June 28, 1984. He was raised by his mother, Morisena Exilus.  When Gosder was 14 years old, his family decided to migrate to the United States to pursue an improved economic welfare and a better quality of life.

Enrolling in Somerville High School, in Somerville, Massachusetts, came to be a turning point in Gosder's life that helped shape a lot of what he is today. Somerville High School welcomed Gosder's vivacious, down to earth spirit and God - given athletic build with open arms.  Gosder found his "peace of mind" in the game of football. He found mentors in Somerville football head coach Tony Gulla and then offensive line coach, Joseph Curtatone. Mr. Curtatone is currently the mayor of Somerville. They helped foster his personal maturation along with his athletic career.

Garnering 2002 All - America Team recognition, earned him a full scholarship to play football for the Boston College Eagles. A natural leader, Gosder served as team captain in his 2007 senior season, contributing to an Eagles' 5,924 yard offense, and Matt Ryan's (Atlanta Falcons Quarterback) record - setting season.

Gosder Cherilus' innate talent, stringent work ethic, and great passion for the game of football led him to a professional career playing for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League, as an offensive tackle.  He was drafted 17th overall in the 2008 NFL Draft.

Gosder Cherilus feels very blessed and grateful for the opportunities afforded to him. He just wants a chance to give back. He wants to share his good fortune with those who need it most.  "I know what it feels like to be young kid, understanding what it is to want, and not be able to have. If I could help it, I would make it so that no kid has to have that feeling." he says.  When asked, "Why is it so important for you to help others? " He answers, "Because it's my job to. It's what I'm supposed to do. Find A Need. Fill the Void."
